Understanding Notary Fees and Mobile Charges

What to expect when hiring a notary in Monroe County and surrounding areas.

In Indiana, the maximum fee a notary can charge per signature for general notary work is $10 and set by state law. Mobile notaries can also charge a mobile fee to cover travel and time. This fee varies depending on your location in the state (urban vs rural) and the distance your mobile notary travels.

However, if you are requesting notarization of real estate, estate planning, federal identity documents, apostille or mortgage documents; fees vary. This is due to the notary having additional training and licenses beyond the scope of your everyday documents. Specifically in Indiana, a notary just have a TPL (Title Producer License) in order to process real estate documents.

At Bloomington Notary, we offer competitive rates for the state and clearly list all mobile fees based on location. Visit our pricing page to see detailed rates or schedule a service online.
